In mid-August, we headed down to Bloomington, IL for our annual Morgan vacation. This year we met at Magic Waters water park in Rockford, IL the first day. We didn't get any pictures of that, but the kids had a blast with their cousins. Finley did a few "big kid" water slides!
We then spent the majority of the week staying at the cousins house. Its always our most relaxing vacation of the summer. Lots of park time, naps, good food, and plenty of outside time. This year did not disappoint!
Pat took Finley to her first mini-golf game. She loved it and so did he : )
The girls had sleepovers with their cousins each night. Finley even got to sleep on the top bunk for a few nights!! They idolize anything their cousins do, so they pretty much spent as much time with them as possible.
This included an afternoon lemonade stand. Too bad a certain 2 year old only paid for one cup and one cookie, but wouldn't leave the Oreos alone.
The neighbor girls (who are really into dance) taught Finley how to start a cartwheel. She still can't do one on her own, but she loved learning and then practicing on the trampoline.
Walking to the park
These giant wooden see-saws were awesome.
We spent another morning at a nearby nature center. It had a great nature play area with trees to climb, a zipline, and tons of sticks and mud to keep kids busy.
Finley climbed her first tree and I don't know who was more nervous at the mid-point (Fin or Pat!) but they both made if off the branch intact : )
What's vacation without Fro-Yo?
At the end of the week, we ventured up the Chicago for the last part of our trip.
We had the chance to hang out with my friend Lauren and her little peanut, Maggie!
On our last night, Grandma and Grandpa watched all of the kids so all of us siblings/spouses could have a night out. We rarely venture into the city when we're in town, but this was a perfect summer evening and the view from Annie and Joe's rooftop patio was stunning.
It was a great end to a great week!
