Basement Family Room

Since I consider decorating my house one of my favorite hobbies, I have been dreaming and gathering ideas for the basement for a while now.  It's my perogative to change my mind a hundred times, but here's what I'm working with for the basement family room as of now:

(click on the pics to enlarge)

1. I want a fun twist on classic fabrics: stripes, quatrefoil, buffalo check, etc.

2. Some hefty curtains to block out the light from the sliding glass door.

3. I am toying with the idea (and trying to convince Pat) that adding floor to ceiling paneling would be awesome. It would likely just be on 2 walls of the room mostly because I would still like some of the walls to be painted a color other than white.

4.  Schoolhouse lighting. Most of the basement finishes will be in nickel or chrome.

5. An expedit for Finley's toys and books. Her play corner will also house a table and chairs gifted to us from Erin and the doll house my grandpa made.

6.  We have this wooden trunk/coffee table but haven't been using it due to the small size of our current family room which is now filled with tea sets and duplo's.

7.  We will be using our khaki L shaped sectional that's currently in our porch because it is super comfy, Pat's pleather recliner (my nemesis), an end table that we have that matches the trunk above, and our current TV console from our family room.

Joe and I stayed at a B&B that had white horizontal paneling and I fell in love!! Can't wait to see your finished product and I'm wondering if you maybe went into the wrong profession.....interior design seems to suit you well :)
