As we cruise into August, here's a re-cap of our summer so far. While we haven't had a place to call our own, we've settled in nicely back in New Brighton. While there are plenty of things we can't wait for once we have our own home again, we have fully realized the benefits of our temporary housing situation - no house chores. I loved my garden and Pat was anal about our yard, but this summer we haven't had one to take care of or really any house projects/maintenance to do, so that means a lot of extra time to explore, play, and nap. I nap most days the girls nap, now. It's amazing : )
Finley begs to go to Mall of America for the rides. Pat took her on a "big girl ride" and I thought she would hate it, but it was a success!
Meeting the Backyardigans at MOA
Our neighbors took us out for a farewell dinner of sorts. Funny story, we had already moved in with my parents and our neighbors were surprising us with this night out. When we got to the restaurant (Muffaletta in Saint Anthony Park - not somewhere we'd been before) and shortly thereafter, my parents walked in meeting another couple for their planned night out. It was comical to say the least!
Ice cream cones on Maria's deck
Fiona loved hers! ha!
Child labor
Fairy Gardening courtesy of Grandma Morgan - we've since added a few more plants, another troll, and a dog to the mix
We visited a horse farm with my Aunt Kari/Uncle Doug. Finley was obsessed with the bulls they had in the pasture.
Finished up another season of Little Kickers!
Our timid bike rider has gained a lot of confidence in the cul-de-sac this summer and she's outgrown her princess bike.
Gardening with Grandma
We've spent a few days exploring our new town - first stop Cantebury Downs for family day. It was actually a really fun day with friends. We should've listened to Finley - She picked almost all of the horse winners (based on the jockey's wearing pink or purple!)
We watched a lot of USA soccer with Grandpa. The girls made these flags and USA signs for the final match.

4th of July eve party with friends - me and my patriotic girls
Face-painting
Our second annual bike ride from CR Dam to Elm Creek Park on the 4th of July - so much cooler outside this year which was welcome. This was also my last year pulling this heavy load! Praise Jesus!
Someone completed the set number of dry nights and got to go to Chuck E Cheese. It was really sweet how excited she was, though I don't think we'll be back anytime soon.
Touching snakes...
Loving the inflatable pool on the patio
Maria's pony party (not pictured - Fin riding the real pony!)
Barbie Dream House exhibit. It was a few hours of pink, pink, sparkles, music, dancing, and more pink. They loved it!
