NYE

We haven't had plans on New Year's Eve since probably college.  It usually seems like a hassle and we hadn't wanted the drag of trying to get a babysitter only to go out for an overpriced meal, etc.  But, when our party planning pro and neighbor Brandy asked if we'd be interested in a progressive NYE dinner - my one stipulation was "if you can find a babysitter, we're in!".  Five minutes later, she had worked her magic and we were all set.

I know I've mentioned this before, but this group of neighbors/friends are amazing and what kept us happily commuting to our jobs and staying put on this street in a house with only 2 garage stalls : )  These women are my sounding board for challenges I face in motherhood, parenting, problems at work, and more importantly in dissecting the latest season of the bachelor.  Pat has gained golf partners, handy-men, running buddies, and fellow football fanatics.  And our kids seems to get a long pretty great, too!

The kids had a 'sleepover' at Quincy's house (everyone carried their kids home after midnight).  They watched movies, decorated hats, and then all fell asleep!

Meanwhile, us adults started with cocktails at Brandy's, moved onto fondue at Andi's, followed by dinner at Teresa's, and lastly to our house for dessert.
Patrick and Teresa made beef wellington for our group of 10!  It was seriously restaurant worthy.  In fact, all of the food was amazing.

We stayed out until 2am (whoa, didn't know we could still do that!) and carried our little ladies back home across the street in the moonlight.  A pretty great night!

(followed by the most unproductive New Year's Day in a long time!)
