Well, Fiona has arrived! Her birth was different than Finley's - still pretty quick, but much more painful this time around. More details on her birth story later...
Here's mom rocking away about an hour before the epidural came - not feeling too bad.
About 4 hours later, at 4:57 pm, she was in mom's arms! She was twisted up in her umbilical cord and we were closely monitoring her heart rate after the epidural. Nervous times, but she arrived safe and healthy - praise God!
8 pounds, 13 ounces (exactly what my doctor predicted at the beginning of the induction!)
21.75" long
The 2 doctors I'd been with since the beginning of my pregnancy were unavailable, so I had a doctor that I'd seen some with Finley's pregnancy. He was fabulous - very calm and caring and put my mind at ease when I wanted to quit because of the pain.
Once we got into our permanent room, Miss Finley came to visit with Grandma and Grandpa. Fiona gave Finley a diaper bag filled with cloth diapers, wipes, and a bottle. It was a big hit! Now she'll be just like mom.
Getting to meet her baby sister and touch her hair : )
The Morgan Girls
Family of Four
Moosh and Brian came with pizza right as we got to our room and it tasted so good after not having eaten since the morning. No pictures, though - boo.
Right before bed, Fiona got her first bath. Guess she wasn't a fan of having her hair washed - she's just like Finley ; )
So far, Fiona has been an outstanding eater and a pretty good sleeper. I managed to get about 5.5 hours of sleep in 2 bouts last night so I'm not complaining. We are looking forward to day 2.
