On Monday of our vacation we hit the local zoo, The Living Desert, located up in the mountains a bit from Palm Springs. It was the coolest (as in cold) day we had. {Sidenote, it was low 70's during our week and today it was 99 degrees - 1 week later}
We loved the meerkats - remember from The Lion King
Fin liked it too!
They had this amazing train village - Reminds me of Mister Rogers
Finley had some of moosh's icee! Gus chewed on the chair...
The biggest hit was this kids play area with large reptiles and reptile themed playground equipment:
Hello giant lizard.
Snake charmer??
Pat and Finley went down the tube slide and I think there was only about 1" to spare. This was the picture I got...haha
Moosh was nice enough to navigate these tunnels with Finley, however Finley decided she didn't want to come out until mom came in.
Like any good zoo, they had a carousel! She was a panther.
Next, it was a stop at the petting zoo. She LOVED the goats. Especially the ones that wanted to get up in her face. And the one's that were peeing.
The giraffe exhibit was amazing. We missed being able to feed them because we got there late, but it's on the agenda for next year. Seriously, were we in Africa or SoCal?
Hope Finley wants to join Moosh and Grandma on one of these one day!
