What started out looking like this (as Finley's nursery):
excuse the horrible sideways picture with Fin's name blocked out - it's all I can find ;)
Originally, I wanted nothing to do with a "girly" nursery. I stuck to sky blue walls and reds/yellows for Finley's room and was so ready to have new boy bedding made if baby #2 was a boy. But, something about having a second girl softened my heart to more pink. Prior to Fiona's birth, this nursery looked exactly the same as Finley's and although I though very occasionally thought about updating it - truth is we had just moved Finley to a new room that we'd had to paint no less than 3 times as well as all of her furniture, plus we finished the basement a mere days before Fiona was born, so any energy or money was pretty much already spent.
But, nursing a baby in her room for hours on end and just staring at the walls started to eat away at my constantly house-updating self! Then, Pat bought me an amazing picture frame for the walls and slowly the room was transformed into Fiona's shabby chic nursery.
All done:
The old barnwood window frame is from my aunt Kari. The tea set pieces are from Grandma Morgan. The "you are loved" print is Katie Daisy. The pink sweater was made by an old patient of mine.
Here's the frame - which I adore.
I changed out the knobs and re-trimmed a few lampshades.
These Shabby Chic balloon valences were a perfect fit once I took them out of the guest room-turned Finley's room.
I found a few more girly fabrics (mostly from old baby clothes that were stained or impractical) and replaced some of the hoops on the wall. The sign is from aunt Nini and the blanket is from a precious former patient.
I love how it turned out!
