15 Months!

A lot of mom's I know miss the baby stage (the cooing, cuddling, tiny baby, etc) but I am LOVING this age with Finley.  I love her personality and the independence she's gaining.

~She is climbing on everything she can reach, most notably the couch.  Only a few more months and she'll be able to reach things on top of dressers and counters - scary!

~She has developed into a mildly picky eater.  (Although daycare tells me that she is no where near picky).  Right now she seems to decide whether she likes something or not before she even gets it to her mouth.  But the next night, she just might devour that thing she wouldn't touch the night before.  Or, I'm discovering that if I give her a spoon, she will spoon up a lot more than she will touch or let me give her.

~Her favorite foods are bananas, mangoes, blueberries, pizza, toast, yogurt, cheese sticks, and dry cereal.  She strongly dislikes eggs and chicken.  There are some nights she will only eat fruit - I guess it could be worse...

~No more bottles!!  It's been just over a month now without them, and I have packed them away in the attic.  Me and my dishwasher are smiling.  She usually drinks milk with everything, with the occasional cup of water if we aren't near a fridge.  She loves chocolate milk for a treat :)  Using straws is also new and this makes going out to eat a little easier if I forget her sippy cup (which I never do...)

~She can pull her shirt up over her head if I hold her sleeves to pull her arms out.

~She is wearing size 3 shoes - really small for her age.  Most shoe brands don't make sizes smaller than 4, so I can't wait until she reaches that milestone.

~She is still chatty and babbles all of the time.  We are starting to figure out what she's saying some of the time.  Her current favorite words are: "Up" and "who's that/what's this".  She can also say Hi, Mama, Papa, all done, uh oh, and baby.

~We have a collage of family pictures on our stairway wall that she sees multiple times a day and she points at it saying "who's that".  When it's her in the picture, she giggles.

~She can point to her belly when asked where it is and also makes a beep-beep noise when we touch her nose

~She is taking 2 naps a day: one at 9 and one at 1:30.  Both are about 1.5-2 hours.  We though she was getting rid of the morning nap, but lately she's been sleeping really well during it, so who knows.

~Bed time consists of reading books now.  Her current faves are Goodnight Moon and Peter Rabbit.  She carries books around the house and flips the pages all the time.  She'll often bring me a book and sit in my lap to read it to her.  This has been really fun.

~Stuffed animals are also a favorite.  She will carry them all to a certain spot and then move them all to a new spot.  She is usually carrying and sleeping with two at a time.  She still loves Gus the most, but doesn't seem to be so preferential at this time that she can't go without him as long as she has another animal.

She has developed a more high pitched laugh that she does when she's entertaining herself.  It is so cute.

We're loving this age.
