One Year!

Here are some fun tidbits of what Finley's up to at 1 year:

 -She is walking pretty much everywhere.  This happened the day we came home from her birthday in Chicago (after everyone asked if she was walking!!)  I think she finally caught on to the suggestions.  She has now figured out running, wiping out, and getting right back up.  We have to chase this naked baby after bathtime as it is her favorite time to run wild and away from either parent.

-She isn't eating any more baby food, except for prunes if she needs to be a little more regular :)  She loves Yo Baby yogurt in any flavor (even green beans & pears).  More of her favorites are cheese tortellini, any pasta with marinara, pizza, bananas, carbs, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and her absolute favorite...canned mangoes.  She will eate meat mixed into things, but she doesn't gobble it up plain like she does other foods. 

-She gets a morning and evening bottle with mostly whole milk.  Otherwise, we been increasing the amount of whole milk she drinks out of her sippy cup during the day.  Sometimes it needs to be mixed with peach yogurt drink to make it more appetizing!

-She dances to music - favorites include the songs her toy teapot sings and Miley Cyrus.  She will either bounce on her knees or standing up.

-Clapping and saying "yay" are common occurences.  She will praise herself for anything.

-She licks everything...the computer, any mirrors, her toys.  It's like her first exploratory sense.

-She is fearless.  She is climbing on everything, runs full speed into things, would jump off the bed if we'd let her, and rarely sheds a tear when she falls or bangs a body part on something.  See exhibits A, B, C, and D below!

-She is getting really good at putting together her duplo's and will play with any buckles or straps for a long time just trying to put them together.  We may have an engineer on our hands.

-Finley carries Gus (or Gussy), her stuffed rat, around with her everywhere and sleeps with him as well.  When she's tired, she lays her head on him. 

-Finley has been taking longer naps (usually) and sleeps with 2 blankets in her crib now.  Usually she ends up with them scrunched up into a big poof with her face on top of them.

-Finley is a chatterbox.  She talks to herself 75% of the day.  I can't wait until she can actually tell us more things.  Right now it's limited to "yay, weeee, all done, bye, mama, yeah, and no"

-Finley can turn on our stereo receiver and open up the dvd disc exchanger

-Her favorite toys are currently a musical teapot, duplos, little people noah's ark, remotes, and piece's from mom's magic bullet blender.

-We have tried to skype with my parents a few times, and she HATES it.  thus far it has always ended in tears.  She wants to touch them and in the process climb onto the computer keyboard, which is obviously not okay!  We are going to try again when she's strapped into the high chair.

-She loves her momma and papa and we love her even more :)
