10.10.10 was the date for the Chicago Marathon.
The night before we were lucky enough to stay at the Renaissance right on the Chicago River (thanks to my parents) while Finley stayed with the Morgan's (Big thanks to Pat's parents and sisters)
This was the view from our hotel room.
Trump Tower
Waiting for the first glance at the runners.
I thought the athletes in chairs were awesome!
It was a beautiful, but warm day - mid 80's by noon. Not too comfortable for the runners, but it was great as a spectator.
The leaders!
The first time we say Pat and mile 1.5 we were on top of a balcony at the hotel that was 3 stories up. There were so many people, it was hard to spot him.
Above: Pat is in an orange shirt and grey shorts to the L of the pole.
Below: Pat is dead center.
My favorite sign of the day made by a fellow CBCer. (Pat runs with the Calhoun Beach Club and they had a pretty good showing at the race).
Just after mile 12 - looking good!
At mile 12, we met up with Lauren (L) and Katie (R)! They are both marathon veterans and Katie and her husband John were nice enough to navigate the El for us to find our way to mile 25.
Mom was pumped about her cowbell :)
Pat at mile 25 - not smiling anymore, running through leg cramps, and ready to be done.
We are so proud of him, though!
Our view from the petty cab on the way back to our hotel. It was a great weekend!
