The weekend of August 28th, I completed a 5k as a finale to a Moms on the Run program I joined. We met every Saturday morning at 8 to do interval running training and I ran with a neighbor and fellow MOTR member at 5am every Wednesday. It was such a great way for me to get back in shape after having Finley and on most Saturday mornings I ran with her in the jogger.
I ran with my neighbor for most of the race, but ended up slightly behind her at the end. It was the fastest I've run a 5k, so I felt pretty good. Most of all I was proud that I stayed dedicated for 4 months despite being busy and sleep deprived.
My MOTR buddies: Brooke and Denae
The race was at Long Lake Regional park in New Brighton. I happened to run into a few law enforcers...buddies from high school - Chuck and Brad.
Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Zenz for hanging out with Finley while I ran.
She enjoyed chomping on her sunglasses waiting for mom to finish!
And if you're wondering where Pat was...He was running 19 miles with the rest of the CBC for his marathon training!
