7 Months...We're in the downhill slide to a one-year old. Don't think I haven't mentally started to plan the party :) She is a total joy. Enjoy her update a few weeks late!
Finley is sitting up pretty well at this point. She still has her moments of diving in one direction reaching for a toy or chewing on something and losing her balance backwards, but she can spend minutes unsupported.
She is rolling all over the place and is less bothered by staying on her stomach. Even with the belt on her changing table, she is able to roll onto her stomach and it is like wrestling a greasy pig to get a diaper on her these days.
Finley will reach forward when she's sitting and end up balancing in this position briefly, but her arms don't look like they are strong enough to support any creeping/crawling at this point. Recently she has started lifting her arms up when she wants to be picked up. I'm sure it will get annoying, but I'm lovin every minute of this.
She has started to learn games like peek-a-boo. Pat also has started surprising her when I'm carrying her around...he runs up to her when we're walking down the stairs and she squeals and laughs really loud.
When Fin is excited she will open her mouth up really wide, gasp, and then bury her head into your shoulder - drool everywhere
She is still chatting a lot and has introduced more consonant sounds...ba ba, da da, even ma ma. She is also back on the kick of razzing her lips.
Finley's top left tooth is coming through.
With more teeth coming in, she is still chewing anything she can get her hands on. Paper is the newest craze, but we won't let her have it for long since she will take bites out of it. She frequently reaches for my glasses and chews on them when I'm wearing them.
She is now eating baby food 2-3x/day and has tolerated increasing the thickness with either cereal/oatmeal or stage 2 packaged food. I'm still making most of her vegetables, but I've bought the fruit so far. She currently has added bananas and peaches to the daily rotation with plums next up on the list. We've stopped carrots for now as they seemed to bother her stomach and I wasn't a fan of how much they stained everything.
I have been weaning myself from nursing/pumping, so Finley now gets 2 bottle of formula at daycare, 1 bottle of milk at night, and is nursing in the mornings. Overall, I feel so good about the timing of this decision - I'm no longer pumping in the middle of the night or on my way home from work!
Finley has started the recent habit of seeing the bottle or bowl of food and not only freaking out, but also spitting out her nuk if she has it in her mouth. She just shoves her little tongue out and screams. It's cute as long as it's time to eat!
Bathtime is now filled with Finley kicking at warp speed and getting water everywhere. We're close to putting her in a bigger tub. We've also started adding a new toy to the tub each week.
Finley's sleep at night is fairly consistent from 7pm-5am, then she has been waking up on her tummy and fussing some. She has started to fall back asleep on her own, otherwise we go into soothe her once and she will then sleep until 6-6:30.
Her naps are usually at 9 and 1 pm give or take 30 mins and they usually last about an hour. She has been more consistently cat napping at 5pm when dad picks her up from daycare and sometimes she sleep for up to 30 mins. She doesn't nap for long, but she's usually happy when she's awake, so I can't complain too much.
Her hair is getting so long...well relatively speaking. It feels like forever ago that I was freaking out over her bald spots. I can't wait until we can do barrettes!
We Love You Miss Lee.
