The sky has looked so amazing after the storms we've been having the past few weeks. This past Saturday was the craziest storm we've had yet. Friday night, Finley developed a cough and didn't sleep well at all. She would fall asleep, but then would wake up coughing every hour or so and then would cry because she couldn't fall back asleep. We spent the majority of the night comforting her. So, when Saturday night rolled around, we were hoping sleep would come a little easier for Finley. Pat and I put her down and she fell asleep and we started watching a recorded show. Finley woke up, so I went upstairs to rock her and then the sirens came on. I could see the constant lightening flashing outside her window. About 20 mins later Pat came up to tell me to bring Finley down to the basement. So, we headed down to our stairwell and listened to the radio. There were reports of a tornado 2 miles from us and you coulnd't even see more than 20 feet outside - the sky was green and the wind was so strong. It was pretty scary, especially with a baby to protect. Pat pulled a mattress over us and we huddled together at the bottom of the stairs. About 20 mins later it had passed without any damage to our neighborhood, but we did find one of our chair blown into the backyard from our 2nd story deck. And the calm after the storm seemed to have helped Finley sleep better!
