Baptism

On June 27th, Finley was baptized at our church.

It was such a special day for our family.  We feel so honored to have been chosen to be her parents and to be able to guide her through this life.
Michelle and Erin are her Sponsors/God parents.
Finley wore my baptismal gown and bonnet.
To celebrate her life in Christ, we had a party at our house afterwards with our extended family.
The pink rose was placed on the altar from her grandparents.

The service was during Finley's normal nap then eating time, so we had to make some schedule adjustments.  I started to feed her at the beginning of the service and soon noticed that the bottle was leaking all over her bib, so I pulled it out of her mouth and asked Pat to tighten it - meanwhile Finley is freaking out because her bottle is gone and of course I can't find a nuk to keep her content until the bottle is fixed.  All in all this took probably 30 seconds, but in a silent church it had me sweating.  She was really good for the rest of the service, just babbling away.  When it came time to actually get baptized, Finley was very calm.  Pat was holding her when the water was washed over her head and after the service a woman came up to us and said "I love it when dads hold the baby - it's such a special bond".
