Our Memorial weekend was spent on the north shore of Lake Superior. Split Rock Cabins are a place of history for my family. My dad has been going since his early childhood and I've been there every Memorial and/or Labor day since I was born. My mom's 2 sisters and their families, my grandma, and my mom's aunt also stay in their own cabins.
It's rustic but quaint. Pat and I had to practice our stealth moves getting into bed late at night after Finley had been asleep in our 1 bedroom cabin since dinner time.
This is the view right out in front of the cabins.
The fresh air is nap inducing for mom (and Fin)
Pat's nemesis, the seagull
Finley enjoyed snuggling with Grandma and hanging with Grandpa while the rest of the crew went out to breakfast. When we got home I was nervous Finley would be screaming because she was hungry. Instead she was smiling and chewing on Grandpa's shoulder!
The primitive setting is no problem for Great-grandma's wheelchair.
Thug-life style hiking
Dad got to strengthen his upper back on our hike.
Can you spot the bald eagle?
Cousins :) We missed Jesse this year, though.
