(insert phrase about how fast this past month has gone)
She's 5 months old, kids!
Her "look" is still mostly the same as last month: blue eyes, auburn hair that is part growing/part thinning, rosy cheeks, yoda ears, etc.
The inside of her mouth is not at all the same. One tooth has popped through on the bottom and another looks to be coming soon!! We really didn't notice a huge increase in fussiness, but the wicked diaper rash was a big hint. (thanks to my mom and erin for connecting the dots)
Finley is still exploring everything within reach and then chewing on it. When nothing is available, both fists taste just as good.
Her toes haven't made it into her mouth, but they are darn close.
She is getting a lot more accurate with grabbing things with either both or one hand(s) and pressing the buttons on toys that make noise.
Finley is getting stronger with lifting her head up when on her stomach, however this is probably her least favorite position to be in.
She can roll 90% of the way over to her right side and don't think I'm not using what little pediatric PT skills I remember from school to train her into a rolling machine. I'm thinking this weekend we can perfect the roll. Basically I discovered she could do it because she wanted a toy above her right shoulder and arched her back and turned her head to get it.
She can turn her head nearly all the way around, so we call her exorcist sometimes.
If I set her up in ring sitting and prop her arms in front of her, she can "sit" for about 5 seconds.
Finley now eats 7oz a bottle at daycare
I've bought rice cereal, but I don't know if we'll wait until her 6 month MD appointment to try it or if we'll get adventurous before then
Finley is more often than not sleeping through the night, but gosh forbid she do anything consistently. Throw in an upset stomach or a tooth, and she may be up once, but ye old nuk takes care of that.
I don't set an alarm on the weekends because her babbling wakes me up - best alarm ever!
She is a pretty verbal baby and as soon as we enter daycare, she is constantly making noise.
Crunchy baby paper is her favorite toy of the moment
She is still smiley and is a happy baby nearly all the time, unless she has to poop!
Finley is starting to cuddle with her arms around our neck when you hold her, especially when she's tired. Melts my heart!
She rode along in the jogging stoller with me for the first time last week. Pat said I should probably use the car seat because he didn't know if her neck was strong enough yet, but then we both looked at each other and remembered that I run slower than some people walk so we nixed that idea. She did great!
Finley is still napping 2x/day. The morning one is usually shorter, but this also varies some. We don't always make it to the crib on the weekends because we've been busy and she tends to sleep longer in her bouncy seat.
Julie (daycare) rocks. We've been in a bind a couple of times and she is more than happy to keep Finley a little late. Things have worked out that we haven't had to, but knowing the option is there takes a lot of stress away.
Baby Girl, we love you!
how different does she look?

So cute, Kristin! And that was sweet of you to run at a snail's pace to keep Finley safe. I would've too. :)
