Since I posted Finley's 2 month pictures late, 3 months really snuck up on me. I feel like she is changing really fast, though some of that might be because I'm not spending 24 hours a day with her now that I'm back to work. Here are the highlights of what she's up to currently:
-Her eyes are still blue and it's usually what most people comment on when they see her.
-Her hair is thinning like crazy, especially around her temples. Her hair is what people used to comment on the most :( She sleeps with her head turned either right or left so we're thinking that's why these particular areas of so thin. She still has a mullets worth in the back though!
-Her sleep is capital H - horrible, capital T - terrible. It seems like we've strung one thing after another upon her (vacation, immunizations, daycare, and her first cold) and she has not adapted well at all. I think she is sleeping worse than she did at 6 weeks. I'm not sure who's more frustrated, us or her. We're praying this works itself out soon.
-She no longer uses the swaddle because she kept wiggling her arms half way out at night and then would wake up and cry until we fixed it.
-She is moving more in her crib. Some nights we find her perpendicular.
-She is napping pretty well at daycare usually in the crib, but sometimes in a swing or someones arms.
-Her transition to daycare has gone pretty smooth. Julie, our provider, thinks she is an angel. This was honestly my biggest fear - that Julie would call and say Finley wouldn't stop crying and she couldn't come back. Irrational, I know.
-In the morning when I drop her off, the other kids are either eating breakfast or waiting for the bus and they always yell "baby Finley's here!". Julie has 2 daughters (elementary and middle school age) and they love holding Finley.
-The most exciting development has been Finley's awarness of toys. In her exersaucer or with her stroller toy attachments, she is able to spin things around and press buttons to hear the songs. You'd think she was figuring out an equation for world peace with how excited Pat and I get.
-She is also starting to put everything in her mouth. My favorite is the wash cloth in the bath or the bib that she wears all the time (which is necessary since she is a drool machine). Sometimes we can hear her sucking on something over the monitor only to peek in on her sucking on her bicep or wrist. It's so cute.
-She is laughing and cooing. I love listening to her coo through the monitor, just talking to the animals dangling from her mobile.
-She is slowly getting over her 1st cold - it's been a drag, though. We may be visiting the doctor this week if she doesn't improve.
-She weighs 12 pounds even.
We love her even more this month than we did last month.
