8 Weeks

I thought the first 4 weeks flew by, but the last 4 weeks have gone by even faster.  I feel like I was just writing an update on Finley, but I guess there are some noticable changes!  Here are the highlights:

*She still hasn't lost any hair, but her eyebrows have become a tiny bit darker while her hair has lightened somewhat.

*Her eyes are still blue!

*She is sleeping exclusively in her crib at night, but her naps are still inconsistent (place, time, and amount).  We'll tackle that once her night sleep is more organized!

*She is still using the sleep sack with swaddle, but she usually wiggles one or two hands out of it during the night.

*She loves her nuk, but Pat and I have mixed feelings about it.  It's magical when she is really fussy (especially in public), but it's our enemy at night when it falls out in her sleep and wakes her up.

*In the picture above you can see her battle wounds: when she is tired she let's us know by rubbing her face with her hands or into your shoulder.  Despite clipping her nails a lot, they still leave marks occasionally.

*The rash and acne are 99% healed up!

*She is eating well (breastmilk out of the bottle mostly) but we'll see how this goes at daycare next month.

*She weighs 11 pounds 5 ounces and I've had to pack up her newborn clothes and some of her 0-3 months clothes (so hard to do)

*Grandma and Grandpa Zenz babysat last weekend while we went out to dinner and to see a movie.

*When I was a baby my Grandma would lay me out on a towel without a diaper and let me kick my legs around while airing out my bottom from a diaper.  Well my mom has followed suit and Finley loves it!  It's a running joke that my mom has Finley pantless within minutes everytime she visits :)  She also sings a wicked rendition of "Pants on the Ground"!

We've taken a bunch more outings these last 4 weeks:
*Church the last 3 Sundays - she slept the 1st 2 weeks, then preferred to be held while mom and dad danced a bit to the music the 3rd week!  We're thinking she likes the handbell choir music the best.
*Grandma and I took her to Ikea - she slept the whole time so I'll have to wait for a later date to preach to her about how amazing swedish design is :)
*Last week we went to the auto show downtown - we dreamed while Grandpa and Moosh tried to find their next set of wheels
*I brought Finley into meet my co-workers during lunch.  She was a happy baby most of the time and was easily held by 10 different people.  I was anxious to get into the gym and lift some patients without my pregnant belly, but alas that will have to wait a few weeks!

*We have recently reconnected with a neighbor down the street, Emma Jo, who is a month older than Finley.  I met her mom, Andi, last summer when we realized we had the same due date.  Oddly enough, Emma was 3 weeks early and Finley 1 week late.  A friend from work just moved into our neighborhood and she is due in June.  Pat now has a new biking/golfing buddy and Finley and I have some friends to walk to the beach with this summer!

God Bless our healthy little girl
